Texas Panhandle | The reason that they're supposed to work (I don't have one yet) is that they do not raise the volume of all frequencies.
Your ears are not picking up certain frequencies right? The inner ear realizes this and "makes" them up with the fake noise you hear (tinnitus).
The hearing aid is supposed to pick up only the frequencies you're missing, and the inner ear is supposed to back off on making the fake noise.....
Probably not 100% correct but how I got it in simple terms...
