That's the truth. You can definitely hear better, but I have a question about the aides - since they amplify the frequencies you have trouble hearing, why isn't it that they make the problem worse at the same time? Those troublesome frequencies are injected directly into your ears.

As farmers, we are affected by this pretty bad. Sometimes it's dangerous to wear ear protection. Other times, like in combines, we need to hear when something sounds different. The worst I ever saw were pilots that flew smaller turbine powered bush planes. Piston engines in bush planes are bad too, but the high pitched noise from turbines is the worst. I'm sure that's where I lost a lot of my hearing - and got my tinnitus from. But, of course, farming didn't help either.
