Thanks, Torn. So far, the deal with Comcast here seems to be about the same as the fastest speed I can get for DSL from AT&T, so that's at least a wash.

I guess one of my concerns is what happens in really bad conditions. We need 24/7 broadband. We were right at the edge of where Hurricane Katrina transitioned from a hurricane to a tropical storm and lost power for several days. Not sure about cable, but the phone line and DSL kept going.
