I run seed farmers going on 10 years now. Have replaced them twice. When the bottom of them is not flat anymore they will drag seed. I plant corn 2 1/2 in deep and beans 2 in deep. Schafert Mohawk closing wheels seems to mulch the top of seed trench so doesn't crust.
