Southern MN | I guess my bigger question is how was the 19 crop sold. I would think if you had much of your 19 crop sold reasonably well you probably sold early in 20. I tend to hold grain to long, marketing the 19 crop for me really hurt. I didn’t sell much at the bottom but probably averaged 50-70 cents less than I should have, and started hedging more new crop at lower prices than I should have. The gov payments held it together. Paid a lot of margin but did lift a share of my hedges and held on to the physical commodity(something I said I would never do). Now this year, I am doing reasonably well on the rally. My regret is the 19 crop and without Corona I would have done really, really well. | |
