Subject: RE: Wheat

Western Australia
It’s barley that China is not buying from us, particularly malt barley. The spread between feed and malt barley is usually $20 - 30 , this year it’s $3. They buy very little wheat from us. Cash prices in Western Australia have risen $35 in the last month for 2020 crop. Barley is slowly moving up but slower than wheat.
Australian dollar has risen about 5 cents against the US dollar in the last 2 months, probably held
wheat prices a bit . 70 cent Aus $ against the greenback would be ideal for us. Currently 77 US cents
Russian export tax may have buyers nervous, plus corn & beans taking wheat for a ride.
