I had mine removed last May.  Minimally invasive. Was an outpatient. Walked into hospital at 5:30 AM and back out at 10:30 AM. Not much pain. Appetite was OK just couldn't eat very much at a time. Took about 10 weeks to get back to previous eating. Lots of gas and feeling really bloated.

I had spent 6 day in the hospital in late Feb for infected gall bladder.  That was painful. 

Had some other underlying conditions to contend with. In June of 2018 I had esophagus cancer. Removed 1/3 of the esophagus . Got all the cancer. Can eat about anything just have to watch the quantity.

I was 75 at the time of gall bladder surgery.
