Nw Iowa | There was a thread just recently on two. I think if you are going to keep it exposed closed cell would be only option. We had a foamer recommend open cell in our home walls because it deadened sound much better as whole cavity was full. He used closed cell for water prone areas like basement and a attic skim coat. Very tight house. Other issue in the shop would be that open cell should fill entire cavity so would be difficult to blade or shave excess vs a home where they just run blade or knife up and down studs. The guy we had was pretty good but we hauled quite a few bags of shavings out after they were done. | |
