Deaner and Wildcat sum it up well. Having run articulated tractors on cultivators only advantage is not trashing headlands, just a nice U turn. Single rib tires on 2wd much better, with matching ribs on cultivator is best low tech you can get. Here we used two sets of back to back disk blades mounted on planter to make groove which would bake into a track, then used same blades on cultivator, locked into groove. If you have hills all bets are off then RTK and AcuTrak are better.
