NE ND | Thanks for the replies last week about the leaking fuel pump on my JD 444K and how to change it. It was more of a job that I had anticipated because one of the fittings on the pump broke and of course no one nearby had one. Then when I did get one it took longer to prime the fuel system than I thought. Had a heck of a time getting all the air out. Well anyway it runs fine but now it seems like it loses prime. Use it twice a day for chores so it sits 10-12 hours between startups and is plugged in 24/7. You have to crank 2-3 time at 5-7 seconds to get it to start, and then it’ll die after running for about 10 seconds. Then you have to do it again to get it to start again and then it’s fine. Well that amount of cranking even when it’s plugged in is no picnic when it below zero. I don’t see any leaks in the fuel system, could it still be working air our 4-5 days later? Any thoughts on where to look? | |
