i was used to have old machinery and i think old but good maintained machinery is a good way to make money, but people often is influenced by what they see , it's a question of the picture you give them with your new machinery. some landowners especially (some) retired farmers take pride to have beautiful tractors working (a straight line=guidance)) their fields like they took pride to have top of the art machinery themselves (and make straight furows)

not sure if it is about capabilty , but more about a question of feeling/emotional that plays a role in the choice of the successor
