Of my COVID payments on my feedlot cattle. So cattle that I delivered last week netted just over a $100/hd less than the same cattle delivered the same week last year. The cattle graded exactly the same just the base is that much lower than last year. This cattle feeding is so much fun I get out of bed and run to the tractor in the morning to get the next bunch ready. I think selling the steers and cashing the corn check is the future here for 2021 at least.
wasn't that the idea of the payment, to make up the market difference. Sounds like it did its job. All these payments just secure operations to stay viable at breakeven, the more you get the more you work for breakeven in the long run.
Sure seems a lot of folk’s net worth increase over time with those “breakevens.”
