Pilot Grove, Missouri | I will echo what a couple others have said. Sounds like the transmission may be ok and the problem is with the transfer case. No vehicle movement combined with grinding going into park, indicates that the output shaft of the trans is turning. Problem could possibly be in the rear axle also. You might carefully try it in 4wd. Be careful driving it any distance at all this way, though. If the problem is in the rear axle spider gears, the axles can come out of the housing while driving.
