SW WI | One excavator I talked to said “ what it cost you to build that pit....will cost you the same to take it out”. Not quite but about 2/3. The last guy to own a site or buildings....it’s a liability. Mine was built before conditional use permits came about for manure storage construction.....but I needed a permit to take down. And an engineer to develop a plan. NRCS had over site on this and had to sign off on each stage. This is not necessarily just my county....varying rules around the state but it’s never “just do what you want”
That’s why I shake my head at the guys who call these money makers.....the last guy to own it is going to have a lot of expense. So.....is that you? Or your kids? Grandkids? Maybe dump it to someone else long before useful life is up. But what time frame is that? I’ve always said things change quickly in this industry.....what is state of the art right now, will look very dated 10 years from now. | |
