OK | My 93 yr old neighbor was taken advantage of by an equipment jockey. I know it is "buyer beware" but this seems almost criminal. He bought a 2016 JD 5083 for a little over $41,000. I went down to show him some things on it and noticed some warning lights coming on in dash display, the warning flashers and turn signals didn't work, and you couldn't shift between gear ranges without it grinding. Long story short I was at the dealership today and they said $12000 - $14000 to fix and the wholesale on this tractor is $24000.
This is, my mind, elder abuse. I have a relationship with an investigative journalist, just don't know how involved I should get. He's a dear friend, but has a son and grandson that could handle this also. Ideas? | |
