NE IA | My farm has been corn on corn for 8 or 9 years now. Use to rip and fc every year. The last two I signed up to do cover crops so we fly on cereal rye. I think I get a good catch until we put hog manure on it and seems to take care of the stand. Last two years we have hit it with a excelerator in the spring and plant. Have had comparable yields to the neighbors on rotated ground. Im going to rip part of it this year and another part of it next year but would like to try to vt in the fall and then again in the spring. Had intentions of running stockers on it in the past but it seems like the manure tanks, even with vti bars, make a lot of trash disappear so that idea went out the window. | |
