Jefferson, SD | I did a first time for me field of strip till CoC this year. Strip went dead center of last years corn stalk row. I scouted the heck out of it thinking I'd need to add fungicide early to my post weed spray but I had zero disease evident early so didn't add it. I did however spray fungicide at tassel. I had some root lodging but it was still standing well and yielded pretty close to the rotated corn in the other half of the field.
This field has really high ph-like 8.1 and I haven't figured out how to raise decent yielding beans on it so I'm planning to strip it again and CoC next year. I'm planning to use a duracade hybrid in 2021 to combat the CRW. | |
