NE SD | I used to soak beans but I received an instapot pressure cooker for my birthday. One # of soup beans and the seasoning packet that comes with the beans, 8 cups of water, diced tomatoes, diced up ham. Two hours on high pressure and natural release and I can't tell the difference between the over night soaking and then cooking the soup all day or doing it in the instapot for 2 hours total. But yes the beans need to be completely cooked.
