Subject: Liner movement can suck oil into coolant

Ayr Queensland Australia 4807
an outside chance is that its close to having this happen ,you also could have the right rear part of the head gasket leaking oil from the coolant gallery to the rocker shaft oil gallery . In the shop now is a 4960 6076 engine with exactly that problem first singns was oil in the coolant checked the cooler first and it was good sent the machine back out to finish the season . Customer then said when he changed the oil he found a little coolant in the oil ,we dropped the sump and pressure tested it and found coolant comming from the rear of the engine we rotated the crank to see if it was a liner which i did not expect to find due to hours and good coolant practice .Once we turned the crank the coolant looked like it was comming from on top of the camshaft it was in fact comming out of the cam shaft bush . He is my theory as the oil supply to the rockers is from the oil supply when the cam turns a small amount of oil is in the slot metering the oil to the rockers allowing the oil the back feed of oil in the coolant due to the lower oil pressure in this area. The head gasket was the cause you could clearly see area.
The 300 series engine has the same principle of operation as the 400 series
