Southern mn
I made my own scr drive for our Farm Fans dryer. I will give you a quick rundown on what you need. I bought most of the items from Surplus Center. You want the metering rolls to turn at 10 RPM max speed. The DC motor can handle turning at really slow speeds for long periods of time. If you need a ratchet drive I still have mine and it is in good shape, that would get you by this year. If you want you can call me 507 three nine zero 0256. I could text you some pics if you want.

Your will need the following
1. 180 volt 1/2 Hp DC electric motor
2. An AC to DC motor controller (this is how you will control you speed)
3 A 60:1 right angle speed reducer
4 You also need the pulleys for the motor and gearbox
5 The sprockets for the gearbox and the metering roll shaft ( my dryer is running right now so it is kinda hard to get the size of the pulleys and sprockets, I can get them later if you need me to)
