Ive had the same thoughts as you, buti think when it comes time for me to build, im going to go the bunk with a flex auger route. Keeps my labor to a minimum, not starting a mixer and skidloader on the days its way below zero etc. Depending how big your new building is you are going to have a big investment in support equipment, feed pad, etc. As far as getting cows on stalks earlier, maybe plant a really short day corn on whatever field they will go on first? Like I said I have had the same thoughts as you, but given my situation ill stick with shell corn for now.
