| We tested a field in 2.5 acre grids about 3 years ago, then came back and zone tested it last year. We were amazed how much variability there was within the zones that we never would have seen except when we looked at the map showing the grids within each zone.
We also discussed how there were only 3 zones in the 57 acre field and if my memory is correct about 20 grids. So the total number of times the probe was actually pushed into the ground was about 5 to 7 times greater with the grids. So right or wrong we decided to continue with grid sampling for the time being.
