The N is from the atmosphere. You can make NH3 from coal, natural gas, water, biomass...It all comes down to cost. I have heard that at NH3 prices about $800 the process of using wind energy to split H20 becomes economically viable. At that point can we start fertilizing with NH3 and be an organic producer? Its coming from the wind and air. The greenies would love that stuff!
