Subject: Tier 4 derate meaning and questions

Oklahoma
Wife has MF 1734 she uses for garden stuff and then pulling pecan harvester. First tractor we have owned with emissions. Only 231 hours on it. Son was spot spraying and it flashed warning lights and then shut down. Wouldn’t start. Manual said “contact dealer”. Hauled to small mom and pop dealer that we have used for parts before. Asked if they could work on it and they said “yes, probably “derated”. What does that mean? Should a dealer mechanic be able to run the diagnostics and repair fairly quickly?

Been waiting a while for dealer to get to this so kind wondering how difficult this may be.
