Subject: Help calibrating a Cal-Cu-Dry

We recently added a Cal-Cu-Dry to our Top Dry hoping to get a more consistent drying pattern. Running the TD in "continuous flow" Fired up the TD this morning & having trouble getting things working properly. Electrician that did the install was here for almost 12 hours trying to get things working properly. To say the manual & GSI's support is less than desirable is an understatement. GSI dealer pretty much blew us off saying they never sold a Cal-Cu-Dry and we had nothing to gain with it.

The way the manual said to wire it was different from what GSI support said, neither way worked, luckily electrician figured it out which was different from first two.

Now were down to trying to dial in the calibrations;

1. Set point - Top Dry doesn't dump until moisture on Cal-Cu-Dry is .4 below set point. ie: with set point is 16.5, chutes
don't open till it reads 16.1. Anyway to bring these readings closer together?

2. Moisture calibration. - According to GSI this should match moisture of grain in the dry holding chamber. However,
sensors (3) are 4" above the drying floor, 6" away from the chutes. Once the set point, -.4, is reached is that when you calibrate moisture reading to match grain moisture in the dry holding chamber. Once TD starts to refill the moisture read out instants to increase. What I'm trying to say if moisture reading is 16.1 on the Cal-Cu-Dry when it dumps and g4ain in dry holding chamber is 15.6 then do I set the moisture calibration so it reads 15.6 when it dumps? Would this be where the difference in the set point & moisture read out is at?

Hope this makes sense. All help appreciated.

TIA
