south texas
I saw the bearing cage but it still doesn't make sense that u have top shaft gears in one range and not another. I lost a bearing on one of the shafts. It would growl bad in reverse. It would run in all gers till the bearing rollers got in pump and burned up the 2sp.

I would definitely try to shift it by hand and try it before removing trans. If u lost a bearing, the rollers should all be in the bottom.

U have to pull trans out the top. Remove cab.

Its not a bad job but need some shop made tools to lift cab and trans. If u look maybe i posted some pics going in/out.

Get the book or it will be difficult.

U can pull the rear caps off and see if a bearing is out.

In the gear box, each shaft has 2 bearings, front and rear. Thats all. The gears spin on shaft with pressure lubed oil. I seized 2 gears on mine and locked some ranges up.
