So far we've cut three 80's of dryland beans. They're making upper 50's, which would be inline with a trend adjusted APH.
The beans are small, but there are a lot of them.
These fields were too far along to benefit from the Sept 8-9th rain, but maybe half the fields around here were still green when those rains came. The beans from those fields will be bigger.
You were obviously in an area that caught some rain this summer. I finished up 300 acres of dryland beans last night. Field averages ranged from 37-49, which is pretty good considering we had virtually no rain from Memorial Day till the end of August. In 2016 & 2018 these same fields went 60+. Really glad I didn’t plant many beans this year. |
