“These are the times that try men's souls.” | In our county once a ballot is received signature is checked on back of envelope. Once that is confirmed, ballot envelope is removed from first envelope. It is then placed in locked voted box. This box is not to be opened until after polling is done and they are to be counted.
If anything is removed before end of polling, that is tampering with elections. So if they cast a ballot two week before election day. Then dies the next, so be it. That vote will be counted, to removed it after death in that time frame is tampering.
However if person is dead on or before first mail out date of ballots, and register has knowledge of this death, and its confirmed then no ballot should be mailed.
