The envelope that contains the absentee ballot should be signed by the voter.
When I was a clerk, we inspected the envelope for a signature of the voter before we opened it. We then checked the voter list to make sure the voter did not vote in person that day. We did not open and cast the absentee ballots until the end.
I guess the question then was the name compared to the recent death notices? |
