Southeast Colorado | I've like using Paraquat in the past and will continue to.
This year after a wetter July I suddenly found myself WAY behind. I bought a few semi loads of 32%N (since it was amazingly inexpensive and sped up our spraying process) and mixed it with a quart of Paraquat. Thought for sure that'd be the cat's meow. We sprayed at 10 gpa over 3k acres.
Fast forward to today. Some fields kicked butt. Others..........not so much. Now that we've cooled off and are drilling wheat I'm still satisfied that I did what I did. But I certainly didn't get a consistent kill. I think maybe the on and off wind had a lot to do with our success or lack thereof.
I do have plans to follow the drill with either 2-4-d or a combo with glyphosate. I know we need to hit some bindweed again and if it dings the remainder of the growing pigweeds and kockhia to get us to a killing freeze then I'll be happy. Anyway.............thought I'd share my experience. Live and learn I reckon. | |
