Off topic, but I'm going to ask just because you sound like a person knowledgeable enough to know...I've long wondered about the back end terminator. Does the standard IBBC as used by everyone automatically apply a termination to the bus when there is no implement connected, and remove it when an implement is connected? That's the only way I can envision the system remaining in spec at all times, but I've never found a definitive answer that this is the way it works.

Yes - correct. There is a terminator built into the IBBC connector on the back of the tractor. When there is nothing connected, the terminator is activated. When an ISOBUS implement is plugged in, the plug has a ground wire jumpered across to one of the small pins that lets the circuit board in the IBBC connector know to disable the terminator.
