Cobb - 9/10/2020 06:38 Jim, does the soft core setting help when doing haylage bales, i have a jd 467 with no silage kit I feel the soft core option helps a lot to get the bale started in very wet conditions without plugging. Mine is set at 24" which you can see in the darker color core of the bales in the photos above. I'm not sure what the silage kit is, but I did have a "high moisture kit" installed which is a scraper on one of the lower rollers. The combination of the soft core and scraper seems to work well in my conditions.
