The danger with propane is that it is heavier than air and if you have a leak it will pool in the lowest area and then a spark or ignition can cause a major explosion. Like come home,turn on the lights and the house explodes. Natural gas is lighter than air and it tends to go up and escape, but as we have all seen on the news sometime NG causes houses to explode too.
