I agree with all of that. Many if not most doctors have their patients best interests in mind. There are always some bad apples but most are of the best intentions. I thought the world of my previous doctor (now retired) and he would never do anything to harm me. Yet he was clueless about reversing my type II diabetes. I had to learn and do it on my own.

All of what you mentioned plus even the ones that start to "get it" may be hampered in implementing anything that are not considered "standard of care" within whatever medical organization they are a part of.

Changes move at a snails pace. ADA and AMA are just starting to recognize saturated fats are not a problem and dropping them from the foods to avoid list.

I think it will take the next generation of doctors before we see much change on a wholesale basis. Till then it will be grass roots and individuals seeking out the information.
