Hi Jim. Yes, the hairpinning issue is valid and needs to be fixed.

One of the reasons for my interest in soybeans and grain corn is to expand the rotation choices for the no-till program. If I can leave the fescue to rot over the winter rain season, then plant a spring crop like soybeans or corn, then go to wheat, it would give me the harvest timing I need to go back into grass. For the certified turf types, you have to be out of grass production in that field for a minimum of 18 months. However the fescue will need to be planted on or before the 15th of september. So that limits my rotations with the harvest of so many crops being a lot later than that.
