Colby, Kansas | Best: IBM (Lenovo) ThinkPads - If you look at these make sure you actually get a ThinkPad (T series, X series, Z series) those tie back to IBM design rather than the Lenovo designed ones. I'm on my 4th IBM thinkpad, all the previous ones still run, just got too old/slow. I've dropped them off pickups, tractors, etc. And they are tough. If you only want to spend a couple hundred bucks a T43 with some added RAM is a really good buy at the moment.
Worst: Dell - have had several amongst my immediate family across all model series and they have been nothing but problems, several have failed all together, and they don't use them near as hard as me.
This opinion represents my personal experience, I know a lot of Dells have been sold so I'm sure some would disagree.
