I'm writing an email to a friend, and I needed to use the word for the "disc" tillage tool.  But I couldn't decide whether to spell it "disc" or "disk".  So naturally I asked my wife how to spell it.   (Spousal assistance for proper spelling was in our wedding vows.)

She wasn't sure either, and proceeded to google it.   The best Sue could come up with was.... disc is the spelling of the tool, but if used as a verb, such as.... "I was disking the field."..... then it is spelled, disk.   But she did find dictionary-acceptance of it used both ways.

Incidentally, spell check on this website didn't recognize, "disking".   I had to "add to dictionary".    Evidently, even spell check isn't sure what to do with the word.

So..... how do you think it should be spelled?   Sue and I have a bet going as to how most farmers prefer to spell the word.

I was wondering how "Titillating" these reply's might get, but the old farmers seemed to be split on how to spell DISK.
