| Local farmer here had his 4 wheeler stolen. Thief was caught riding it the SAME night. Not sure what they could/did charge him with, but, I don't think they could PROVE he stole it from the farmer. Soooo, if a thief gets caught with engraved tools, he could just say he found them on the road. He could say he bought them from some girl scouts selling lemonade. Marking will help. We have marked all our tools. I think of it more of a deterrent than anything. Even with serial numbers proving it is your stuff, you still have to PROVE they STOLE it from YOU. The excuses of how they came in to possession of stolen stuff are endless. | |
