Kingston,Mi | Dad ordered a D2 from Laethem's after WW2, order eventually was cancelled because they were being diverted to Israel. He had a trailer built from a Greyhound bus front axle to haul it with his 1928 John Deere D. He planned on using it to re-clear land he and Uncle Phil cleared in the late 30's. Eventually he hired LaJoie and Sons to clear the brush and small trees that had invaded the pastures. Have a picture of my mother posing next to LaJoie's AC dozer perched on a clump of soft maples. I am not sure which young LaJoie found out down side of using a cable dozer to clear 6 inch maples. The dozer is 2 to 3 ft. up in the air with the clump of maples under its belly. | |
