North Central Kentucky | We ended up with some free seed beans leftover from last year from the seed guys. (Pink color, so unsellable) we drilled it with SS into a field after cutting wheat for hay.
We just cut the first cutting last week. The beans were there in a decent stand and roughly the same size as our beans planted for crop. It was far too early for pods or anything like that. We baled wet and wrapped.
I don't regret doing it with free seed, but don't think I'd do it again if I had to buy seed. Maybe in an alternating row situation like mentioned by someone else, but that may diminish subsequent cuttings? | |
