Subject: Re: Where to buy Trimble 500

I have bought three EZ Guide 500s and two EZ Steer 500s on EBay. I averaged $2300 on the EZ Guides and $2600 on the EZ Steers. These were bought in late fall early winter they are not quite as cheap now. Dealer support is important to me also but the total savings on these three units over my local Case Ih dealer was $3900. I just could not justify that amount for local support. Warrenty is not a problem. Even though the 500s were Case IH branded I was able to register them for warrenty on the trimble website. I had a problem with one of the EZ Steer motors right out of the box. I called Ag Express and they said I did not have to go through a dealer to send it to them for warrenty work. I sent it in and recieved a new one from Trimble in three days. Again I like to buy local and dealer support is important to me but there is a limit to everything and you just have to decide what it is worth to you.
