How long ago did you buy the JD rate controller? I added swath control for our planter and that cost $1700. To use swath control for our sprayer to shut booms on and off automatically I needed to add a JD rate controller to the sprayer and that cost me about $4000 for the rate controller and harnesses for raven components. Bought that 2 weeks ago. I would be curious to see what this same setup is costing other people. This is the one thing I do not like about the John Deere GPS system, every time we add something to the basic system there is another huge cost to it after the large initial investment. Are other systems the same way? Has anyone ever seen or used the TopCon system? Seen it at Husker Harvest Days and it looks like a good system, but haven't talked to anyone who has used it.
