Subject: RE: Business Liability

That is definitely an issue I’ve been hearing and will hurt businesses going forward. Small bus transport company ( bachelor parties, wedding parties, custom events) wanted to have riders sign waivers should someone try to sue, claiming Covid came from their buses. Bus companies lawyer advised, easier to stay closed than get wrangling in a lawsuit.

On the other hand. Large regional convenience store chain had Covid cases in their production line. Told employees under no circumstances can you name co workers for trace back documentation. Health department was trying to get convenience store to cooperate to which the store basically said “ we have a bunch of well paid lawyers working for us and were willing to drag this out, let alone just pay any fines and keep business going as normal”. Health department backed off.

Morel of this story seems to be......once again the small businesses are getting pounded while the big businesses may be able to ride this out.
