I think the real number we need to know is the number of deaths CAUSED by covid. I don’t really care how many people have it unless it is put in a ratio with the people who died from it. And I mean died from it, not with it.

We also need to realize that another effect of the isolation we are going though is a back log of people who would have already died in a normal year. It is a normal occurrence for the elderly and sick to catch a cold or the flu and then die from complications associated with it. This year, we didn’t just slow down Covid, we slowed the transmission of all of the regular bugs going around also. We are essentially creating a backlog of future deaths waiting to occur as soon as we stop isolating. This increase in death rate will happen with or without the Covid virus.
