A neighbor had a small barn get totaled. The insurance company wouldn’t let them rebuild in a more convenient location. That’s one way they reduce fraud.
Certainly not saying that’s the case here, I would be upfront with the company, they don’t like being in the dark. If it doesn’t make any difference to them they will say so. If it does, you’re better knowing.
