Man, must be really flat there to build up that much water with a small amount of rain. We got 7" in about 8-10 hours a few weeks ago, creeks were really rolling, but about 2 hours later, it was pretty much back to normal.
Is that normal? I can't even imagine that much rain, that's almost the 8.3" that is the annual precipitation here, in one storm.
We don't get runoff, this area is flat a board, most of it has to be drained by pumping. But there's a few areas with a lower water table. The area below my house though would get the runoff from a few thousand acres of range land, a thousand acres of cropland, but hasn't ever had any runoff in 30 years that I've been able to remember. 7" would have water running over the highway lol.
