If I was after large weeds I'd turn your cutaway discs around an use a max 12" sweep to keep the tool in the ground, ridging wings on to kind of neaten up the hill.

We prune roots plenty just with 12" sweeps.

The corn is about knee high. I think the cutaway disks turned to thrown dirt inward allows me to get weeds closer to the plant.....or is that my imagination? Those sweeps will throw dirt into the row if depth and speed are right.
