Subject: Drain plug under water weight

If you have a 'drain plug' under water, similar in size to a manhole cover that's under 2 feet of water - how much weight is holding it down?

Google suggests .445 lb per sq in, per foot of water? 27 inch diameter plug. I know it's a heck of a lift to pull it out, so I'm curious to calculate it,
It's hard to pull out, but as soon as I do crack the seal then it immediately lets go and then I'm just lifting the weight of the plug, 125 lb or so.
