I had the "privilege" of riding in a donkey basketball once upon a time. I was 16 or 17 at the time. The "referees" ran around with hot sticks making sure that the donkeys didn't get lazy. A couple of them were almost impossible to stay on. I wasn't worried about playing basketball. I just wanted to ride the ones they said couldn't be rode. I was fairly successful in that part of it but I was so sore and stiff the next day that I could hardly move. I can understand why they wouldn't want the "referees" using the hot sticks on the donkeys. That's going a bit too far.
