Subject: RE: disc mower caddy

I have 2 285 mowers on Durabilt caddies. I added 400# to the off side for better weight distribution. Pros. Easier to hook up, easier on tractor, doesn't jerk tractor around, less road wear on right rear tire, can operate with smaller tractor, can drop in the field and come back with pickup to take home, can store folded, and I am sure I am forgetting something. Cons. Need to cut larger headlands to turn on, one additional drive shaft, 2 additional bearings, 2 tires to deal with, harder to maneuver in tight areas, and can't turn as short. I have run them for over 10 years and like them enough I have not unhooked the caddies yet.
